January 7, 1864

January 7, 1864

---Col. John Taylor of the U.S. Cavalry commands a division of cavalry in Warrenton, Virginia, and important town at the edge of Mosby’s Confederacy.  In the early morning dark, Lieut. “Fighting Tom” Turner and a few dozen of Mosby’s troopers attack the outer defenses of Warrenton, dashing into the camp and coming out with over 20 prisoners.  Not one of the Rebel partisan troopers was wounded, except with frostbite.
