---The
Richmond Daily Dispatch reports that
the infamous John Hunt Morgan, who was captured earlier in the year while
raiding through Ohio, has escaped from his prison cell in the Ohio Penitentiary
in Columbus. Apparently he and six of
his officers dug through the floor of the cell and escaped via the prison
sewer. Morgan and his men make their way
north and eventually find refuge in Toronto, Canada.
