---Lt.
Gen. James Longstreet meets with a group of other generals. They draw up a petition for relieving Bragg
from command, and it is signed by Longstreet, D.H. Hill, Simon B. Buckner,
Patrick Cleburne, William Walker, William Preston, Randall Gibson, John C.
Brown, and four other generals, for a round dozen. On the morrow, Col. Chestnut will wire Davis
to come at the earliest possible date.
---Quartermaster
General, Montgomery Meigs, visits Chattanooga to assess the Army of the
Cumberland’s ordnance and supply needs.
